I did not put words in your mouth. I said that you declined. That is a verb, not a quote.turk wrote:No, I just didn't respond. Be accurate please. Don't put words in my mouth.

Goodbye, turk. Enjoy your "powder" or whatever you called it.

Dear Lord what a drama! I am looking for the story at the grocery store checkout because inquiring minds want to know, well maybe not.Amskeptic wrote: I did not put words in your mouth. I said you declined. That is a verb, not a quote.

Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue, I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace. Where never lark, or even eagle flew. And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod, The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

Re: Sucks
Isn't this exactly the outcome turk insisted upon Chi? The legend of his own mind affirmed? Will he ever see outside his own navel of extraordinary brilliance and subsequent persecution? I hope so, but it's pounds and pounds of crow I suspect his ego is unable to digest.
Personally I'm ashamed of my own overly inflated ego that contributed to the meltdown.
Those that rankle us the most tend to be those that most reflect bits of ourselves we recognize and are striving to change.

Re: Sucks
I've read this concept as: "We dislike in others that which we most dislike in ourselves"ruckman101 wrote: Those that rankle us the most tend to be those that most reflect bits of ourselves we recognize and are striving to change.

It's certainly true in my experience. The "striving to change" part, though, I'm not so sure of.
All of that aside, I don't think my dislike of turk's arguments is invalid. For me, what he says is annoying, as well as how he says it. It's so annoying that, like others, I'm driven to confront it. A fool's errand. A lose-lose.
I too, regret and apologize for my participation.

I look forward to the new posts on the board other than 'sucks' and 'the axe falls' but I suppose laundry this dirty doesn't air out overnight.
