My movie list, as promised

Post by steve74baywin » Tue Feb 19, 2008 7:27 pm

Here is a start, these are movies I have watched and liked.

Iraq war movies
,,,
Hijacking Catastrophe (one of the first I saw 3 years ago, it was made before the 2004 elections, a Democratic slant, but very true stuff about how we illegally got into Iraq)

Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers (Shows the fiasco of the corporations getting rich off of this war)

General war movies,,,,

Why we fight (Dam good, I need to re watch, will make you think differently about most wars past, present and future)

The Fog of War (Robert Macamara reflects, in my own words he seems saddened that he was suckered into the shit)

The Power of Nightmares, Part 1 Babies it's cold outside.
The Power of Nightmares, Part 2 The Phantom Victory
The Power of Nightmares, Part 3 The Shadows in The Cave (these show terror and fear being used to build an empire)

Control and loss of freedoms,,,,

America: From Freedom to Fascism (A mans journey to find answers leads him to the truth about the IRS, Federal Reserve and fate of this country)

Creature From Jekyll Island A Second Look at the Federal Reserve (logical look at the Federal Reserve, the author is noted for dissecting tough issues and explaining the wonderfully)

The Corporation (How corporations were started and were good)

The End of Suburbia: Oil Depletion and the Collapse of the American Dream (Shows a plot to sucker us into the use of autos, and more which I can't remember)

911
,,,
Loose change (Rips apart the official 911 story)

Religion, 911 and Federal Reserve all in one
..

Zeitgeist (movie after my own heart, gave me more evidence to back what I already suspected)

Basics that should be watched by all before they speak anything political..

Just rented "Why We Fight" along with "Uncovered: War in Iraq".

Also "Unreasonable Man", about Nader -- my girlfriend finds him annoying as hell ; I voted for him 8 years ago and I still like him but will not vote for him this year as I did not in '04 -- voted Kerry, what a joke.

I recently rented "Dan in Real Life" from Comcast on Demand.

It was highly entertaining. I laughed AND cried.

It stars Steve Carell--funny guy from The Office.

He's a widower with adolescent 3 daughters. They are on a family reunion trip of sorts, to his parents. After arriving, he goes into town to get the local paper and runs into a woman at the bookstore. Has an amazing conversation with her for hours, until she gets a call on her cell and leaves abruptly. He gets her number, despite the fact she is dating someone already. Back at the house, he begins to tell his family about the encounter with this woman and his family is thrilled. However, the woman he met was there at the house, and is his brother's girlfriend!!!! Drama and comedy ensues. It's a great flick!

You gotta break up the heavy drama with farce. Like Bill O. Ann Coulter cracks me up, too. I love her fiction.
