Americans do exceedingly well at creating devices accurate to .00006 and beyond. Replace the word "votes" with $$$ and see how accurate they'd be.
Smoke n mirrors...I'd be scared to find out what really happens behind close doors, this crap we're fed as truth is laffable.
But people eat up crap like "Survivor" so maybe Orwell hit it right on the head, Proles and Party Members. Just change the enemy's name at will.

I think Orwell's vision was damn close. He just got the dates wrong.

I start my new job at the Ministry Of Information tomorrow. Wish me luck! I said it in an earlier thread. The Saudis have always been our allies and we didn't train Al Queida or arm Saddam. The Thought Police are watching!

You guys still believe we have a 2 party system?
Clinton sold us out to the NAFTA people and The Peoples Republic of China, and now he plays golf (along with Jimmy Carter) with the the George Bush seniors.
We're screwed.

No we're not.
After we have voted responsibly, met on the Mall in Washington and properly exercised our Right to Civil Disobedience, if things don't change. . . . then we're screwed. We just have to stay on the high road. That could be difficult if people on our side descend to the same shrill idiocy as . . . the others.

You have a point.
And my history professor laments the lack of modern day Ben Franklins.
I said they are around, but denied media coverage.
I'm voting for Colin in '08.

How true, how true... the same can be said for Ohio and Ken Blackwell two years ago. Wonder who'll come to the plate for the repubs for the midterms?

Won't either.
Quality of life issues.
Not allowed to wear shorts and tank top on hot days.
Can't play nicely with agenda pickled people.
Can't drive my own VW where I want.
Don't like big parties much.
But I'd be happy to participate in helping those who do want to run who have real deep social conscience and drive to serve.

When you're the prez- you can pick the dress code. And as a federal employee myself, BRING IN THE FLIP FLOPS-Colin. And I'm sure you can get your VW pimped out by the secret service...she might just be a bit heavier, though. However, when speaking of quality of life...IAC Tour might get moved to Camp David, but on that note, at least you'd get to be on vacation every month as our current incumbent...

You have my vote, Colin. :weedman:

Heh. I was just informed of a job that pays quite a bit less than I'm making for essentially the same work...

But shorts & sandals for dress code, a game room with pool table video games, etc, and beer Fridays is awfully tempting...

Thanks for posting.. I just watched both of these, very good. I didn't realize they had gone that far in testing.... A few years ago I heard the report of an independant company being hired by a county to check out the program. The guy hired said they had a list of things to check for that should have been part of the program to prevent tampering, his finding where that the basic stuff he expected to see to prevent shit like this wasn't written in the program, he said it was as if it was made to be easy to tamper with.

Just a little input for info. I've never missed a vote in my life - ya woopeedo - but to me - it is important- my parents - altho- Dem and Reb. in the late 50's - 60's Ike/DICK days :cyclopsani: I first voted for JFK and was a firm beliver that our votes counted. Raised my children to believe the same ~ again~ :cyclopsani: Fast forward to NOW :cyclopsani: Demanded a write in ballot at last election, we have had electonic for last four, they looked at me like I was not worthy of voting - screw them- little ole people- like myself. Did the deed and turned in my PAPER vote and -they did not give me my treasured sticker that I had voted -ugggg- None available- my dash on Elwood is missing that sticker :bom: It was so wrong and those poll workers knew it. Next local election - new machines with a joke of a paper trail on the side and I asked for a receipt of my vote ????? No can do and again not voting I have voted sticker ! Im mad as hell and doing my best to see that this is changed. I belong to Move-On.org and urge you to join also. Our FREEDOM is at stake.

Move-On is doing a call out party tonight around the corner from my place.

I subscribe to both parties spam lists just to keep up with what's going on.

My personal beliefs are more Libertarian than anything, so I don't participate in either party's events.

Smart move. That goes under Informed Voter heading.
I listen to Rush Limbaugh to keep up on straw man arguments.
Hateful hypocrite is he.
