Okay, I'm both of Irish and Italian decent, so do tell...

Oh yeah, he was doing general exploring and was in Ireland and heard stories of stranded foreign seafarers who washed up on the shores occasionally. Apparently it even happened while he was there.
Not sure you could find this on the web, when I remember which of my books I read it in, I'll check back.
DNA evidence shows east coast Indians are related to Irish also.
