Why not? We are a couple of years deeper into new statistics and consequences. It is not exactly going away. And, my little anecdotal guess is being borne out . . . there are actually fewer blue sky days than when I travelled across the country in the early to mid 80s. Also, home gardeners have noted that daffodil season is weeks earlier in the northeast. Tellingly, insurance companies are getting it, their greater payouts are weather-related and they are taking notice.

I believe.

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one in the Detroit area that does though. And by the time that folks who really need to feel it to believe it believe it, things will be pretty far along.

Don't get me started. Corporations are slavering at the new opportunities for resource extraction in the Arctic now easier to get too because the snow and ice are gone. Sigh.

I was talking to a bike store owner the other day about this.
He says technology will save us.
I asked him how?
As if technology was an actual resource.
His response was,
It just will.
Again I stated my question.
How can something that got us into this mess, get us out?
What?
He says.
Repeat until your nose bleeds.
End.

So

It always comes down to a fundemental idea here.

Ok I'll bite, you don't think us puny humans could create this mess, but somehow you think they can fix it.

Or try this,
What would have to happen for you to believe there is such a thing called global warming?

Everyone will be convinced there is such a thing as global warming/climate change etc. when the one percent start blasting off for the safe haven of their moon colonies. Hey, technology can save the uber rich. The rest of us, ah, well ... .

I've long been of the opinion that insurance companies will lead efforts to address the issue. All those payouts from one hundred year storms happening every five.
