Success!

When I arrived, we tried to run it from the vacuum hose that was attached to the fuel pressure regulator stuck in a container of gas, and used that vacuum hose as a wick "carburetor". By varying the depth of the hose in the container, we could catch a mixture that would run the engine. This was to rule out engine compression and ignition issues. Ran well for a few seconds every time. We quickly found that the injectors were powered but not pulsing. #1 coil wire to ECU was. We tracked the exact electrical path for each injector plus the signal wire from the coil to the ECU and found everything checked out. Then we checked the ground paths from the ECU to the chassis (Soulful66 had PAGES of notes attesting to his careful efforts to find the problem and, indeed, his every check was right on).
Just as I was about to indict my first L-Jetronic ECU ever, as we were actually removing it to subsitute it. . . . . dagnabbit hotdiggity whatdoyouknow. . . . there was this weird little prong at #7 on the ECU that was about half the size of all the others. Pulled it out with visegrips, reinstalled it, and it fired right up! That terminal completes the intake air temperature sensor circuit. No circuit, no injector grounding.

Once again, look for the simple stuff, that's what it usually is.

I bet you would, and make you remove the tattoo's from your head at your expense, then pay your legal fees and theirs, and court costs. (I am very pissed today, damn corporate capitalistic pigs!)
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue, I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace. Where never lark, or even eagle flew. And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod, The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

One shiny forehead, coming right up. Would you like some fries with that?

Oh, and I will bill your HMO for an elective procedure which will cause them to drop you because you did not disclose the VW tatoo on your forehead. Sorry, talk to your congressperson or move to France or Canada so that you may recieve treatment. :cyclopsani:

Ahhhh you're not licenced in Oregon, buffer-boy. This will be a back-room procedure anyway. Who's got the vice-grips?
