Re: Read It and Weep
I agree with some of the posters in that thread- there is something very suspect about these circumstances..

Looking at blazecut myself... $128 seems fair enough, if they work. What is the max life of our fuel lines, both FI and carb? My 3 year old FI lines look good...from the outside...

Re: Read It and Weep
This is the second fire from the CSV in recent memory, if memory serves me, that I've seen on The Samba.
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=672335
Luckily, the owner saw it and got it out before any damage could occur. This is leading to easy and ongoing forensics. (He even did some sleuthing before cleaning up the power to look for liquid trace. I'm impressed!)
This was was less recent:

In both cases, the lines were new and the owners were paying attention. I am glad we didn't lose any cars, but this trend(?) is alarming.

Re: Read It and Weep
I do. Does it work? I dunno, and don't really care to find out. I also safety-wire my connection from the fuel line to the carb, and change all the fuel lines every five years.airkooledchris wrote:so does anyone here run one of those blazecut fire suppression systems?
I came damn near to losing one bus from fire, and I don't want to go through that again.
