To the left of the bus and down a deep canyon. There's also little streams meandering about.deschutestrout wrote:Where's the creek?

Lookin' like I can head out early Friday....you guys are welcome to "camp" at our place Thursday night if you want...actually...we'd love it if you'd "camp" at our place...I'll buy the beer! I'm gettin' psyched! I've never explored that area and I'm embarrassed to say so...so close yet so close.....I may take the young'in ...he doesn't drink but he can tell a good story and may even sing a song or two

You'll really like it, right at the transition between Cascade forests and the desert. Lots of oaks too.
Hopefully the snow won't be an issue...

I know of a secondary F.S. road (the red gravel one) that follows the top of the canyon and has many opportunities for camp fun. The creek itself is pretty far down.
Get yerself a Barlow District (I think?) F.S. map and check out the area around Bonny Crossing, you'll see the lay of the land.
This map is missing some roads:

Have you camped at the Barlow Crossing site? From what I understand it is a sweet little spot right on the creek....I'd try to catch us some trout for lunch I'll go wherever you guys decide...anywhere we can spread out and relax for a couple of days suits me and my bus just fine.
