1977 2.0 fuel injected bus
The bus started to hesitate yesterday so I checked the dwell which showed 56 degrees,
When I removed cap to adjust I for this. Has anyone seen this before, looks like the resistor
burned up.
Thinking maybe the coil or condenser has something to do with this, perhaps ?
The number on the button is 1234 332 215 , which should be correct.

Re: burnt rotor button
There's a bad day for a rotor. Did you open fire the ignition system to check for a dead cylinder?vwbuff wrote:1977 2.0 fuel injected bus

#4 wire grounding into the tin where the distributor is close? Any damaged spark plug connectors?
Replace, adjust points, make sure everything is well-grounded.

Re: burnt rotor button
I've saw this 3 times, all were running electronic ignition with thousands of miles accumulated without service or maintenance.

Re: burnt rotor button
I have also seen there where a "short" rotor from the late sixties distributors is used with a "tall" cap from the seventies. Do you have part numbers for either? And since you'll be buying a new rotor anyway, compare its height and the cap's height to your old ones for fun. :)
