In which Business Insider complains about CEO pay

You know, when the business world is complaining about income inequality, maybe, just maybe, we're on the verge of something. Something good.

If anyone in the "leadership class" has the slightest self-preservation instinct left, they would do well to understand that every empire since forever has gone down to destruction when they hoard.

They rationalized,
they do rationalize,
they will rationalize,
that "this time is different" . . . but it isn't.
Greed destabilizes.

Agreed...

Here's another fine example....

Our current CEO/President who also is a supposed big fan of the Toyota lean ideaology has just accepted an 18% pay raise on top of his already $1,000,000 salary! Oh wait...cough....cough....not quite correct. His $995,000 per year salary (before pay increase). Guess they thought $995,000 sounded better than a million (roll eyes). And to rub salt into the wound this is a tax payer funded county operated district hospital. I'm fuming right now...

This persons salary is higher than the presidents salary. Something clearly is wrong in this country.

For starters:

1. Term limits (2 terms no more...your out.)
2. No fringe benefits upon exit of ones term.
3. Individual running for President or Vice President has to have served a min of 4 years in a branch of Armed Services. No exceptions.
4. Salary caps for all law makers. Set according to a living wage based on the area they represent.
5. No special interest money or gifts of any kind. No exceptions.

1. There are good experienced statesmen who know the arcane rules of the Senate, I do not want us to lose experience (like we have seen in so many professions where the experienced are thrown out because their salaries are "too high", airline pilots come to mind)
2. Hallelujah Ayep
3. Interesting, but not necessarily. The current culture of our military has some severe distortions that I think would affect the decision-making of the Commander In Chief, almost like saying the President has to be a Christian. Someone like Obama has actually been far more circumspect about putting our service members in harm's way than what I suspect John McCain would be.
4. Their current salaries are reasonable enough, but the perks and the gifts and the bennies are out of control.
a) one year in office gives full pension, no way
b) representative's kids do NOT have to pay back student loans, no way
c) full healthcare, no WAY
5. Absolutely with you here.
