Re: Forum Statistics
Below is the 2013 1st Quarter compared against prior monthly results.
We have instituted some outreach, zabo has put in some good work with the About Itinerant Air-Cooled link that will be an easier web search find. I have been fishing at theSamba for those who are mechanically overwhelmed, and occasionally, I happen across people in my RL travels who I refer here.
We have an uptick in registrations.
Now let's work with this. There is no reason not to fire off a welcoming PM to any new member listed at the bottom of the front page. Ask them what VW they have, what interests they have, what problems they might have. Sure, our founding group has ossified a bit, dispersed a bit, and the IAC has settled into interacting with whatever habits bring them here, but every new member is an opportunity to reach out and develop new gatherings and groups across the country. I know Beer Helps. My visits help. So does pizza. I like pizza. You could do pizza and beer anywhere in this country and I will be there. As I travel this itinerary, let's see if we can put together a social evening as an anchor in whatever areas I am doing several calls.
Please consider this forum as a launch pad for your local fellowship. That is your contribution to the vitality of this forum. I am completely mentally unfit to do anything right now but try to pull off this magnum opus to the old cars from the dim past aka "book", but I will happily watch y'all get off yer duffers and kick this joint up a notch. I hope to work with zabo, who has been exceptionally helpful so far, to work this fabulously boring website template up a notch too. I want to see it hew to the book's aesthetic, but the templates all seem to spring from Hallmark cards or comic book graphics.
We are four days into the Second Quarter. By the end of this quarter, I would love to see some additional results, additional vitality, new friends new to these cars.
Colin

Maybe one of the reasons we are getting less topics/posts is because people's questions are being answered by previous topics/posts.

Do we entertain an Atlanta forum this summer?
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue, I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace. Where never lark, or even eagle flew. And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod, The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

That's where we can't give correct answers any more, and please! disagree with any and all suggestions. You might want to bring up their obvious personal flaws and defective reasoning, as well.
I think I have an Athens visit on the schedule . . . that might be jimbear. But the squareback guy down near McDonough. I have to look at my crashing files.
