True. The first header I put up streeeeeetched the sides of the forum and would not allow me to shrink the window. If I get bold here, you will have little headlamps turning on with new posts ... mark all posts read, you shut off the headlamps. :cyclopsani:

For dingo and jonyem, here is a screen capture of the font and the hand written.

Is the handwritten easier to read when viewing up close? Unfortunately, the font is not in all caps, it is just that I print letters the same way. When I capitalize at the keyboard, it just gets a bit bigger. I yell small and large ...

Image
One thing to consider is printing the font in a slight grayish black. The softer ink of the handwriting makes it more attractive and personal. I don't mind the caps at all.

Also, I support the idea of doing an iPad version in addition to the print version. You could sell it less expensively ($19.95 for the masses) and it would allow people to enlarge the pictures on their screens to properly admire and understand the details. We all get older and our eyes don't get better. With Apple's iBook authoring software it is relatively easy to turn your book into an iBook and you would be self-publishing it, making much more money in the process. Again, this would be in addition to the glossy coffee table version.

The computer file conversions greyed the older text example. Don't know what is up with that, but it is like the file storing process has no true black, so they mush all the four colors into a grey looking result. Even with my 256 Full Color option.

I am with my font every day here, and it utter sucks if I use it for notepad text files, it is miserable to read. Yet, on the illustrated pages, it seems to work with double spacing x 8/7. So faaaaarrrrrr to go ............

Colin,
Are you saving your files as images instead of a raw text editable file?
And are you working in a CMYK color space?

When you work in CMYK your blacks look dull on screen, but final printed page should come out in a rich black.

Really? I hope I haven't overcompensated with subsequent efforts. You sure?

Raw Text Editable file? No no no no, no we are tiff 300dpi 3280x2520 image all the way. All text melts into stone when I hit the save-as.
They will have to be loss-less compiled into a Adobe PDF format or something, but I am hoping to learn of all means necessary to defend the original pixels. I am baffled at how much blending math orphan pixels is going on at every manipulation/save/open . . .

Not to send you into complete overload, but do you have a publisher lined up? If so, in what format do they want you to deliver your manuscript? Will they have editing rights, etc.? I know absolutely nothing about publishing but that's why were here, right?

I have sent out feelers to several.

The art house one wants 12,000.00 upfront (but we give you additional layout and editing support at only 25/hr)
One wants 6,995.00 (you get 50 color illustrations!)
None can do 300 full color illustrations on bright white for less than 50.00/copy (you get one free copy!)
They do "offer" full rights to me.

Still desperately seeking sous and . . .
