Re: It is home!
Randy,
Can you post details on those lights? I'd like to put one back and center for a brake light.
Looking really nice!

Re: It is home!
Thanks for the nice comments. Still a lot of work to be done. It always takes longer than you think it will. I think I need a clone or something. Hopefully a big production weekend is comng here in a few days.
I am hoping those high mounted lights save me one of these days when I am pulling the kayaks behind me. The paint guy sort of built up the top part of the poptop (sort of an eyebrow) so that the angle would point them closer to 90º to the road. The lights are from U Haul for $20 each. I wish I could have found some that had some sort of provision for a turn signal.

I'll bet that your bus will be so quiet with all of that sound deadener and your Camper Special. Looks great.

Re: It is home!
I would rather repack 20 CV joints than to try to install the front window scrapers/front window/ vent wing stuff. Any day. What a nightmare job. Anyone have any good tips?

Re: It is home!
Been there, felt your pain. I totally agree. CV's are cake, getting those G#$#%damn clips on the scrapers to go into the trim piece are soul-testing. No tips, just do what you're doing. Walk away, have a beer, try again. Tape the hell out of everything with ten layers of masking tape just in case something slips. I'm pretty sure you don't want to scratch that brand new paint.Randy in Maine wrote:I would rather repack 20 CV joints than to try to install the front window scrapers/front window/ vent wing stuff.

Re: It is home!
Impressive indeed. Makes me want to get some fresh paint on mine. I washed it at the carwash recently and some of my paint peeled down to the primer (respray in the 80's so I'm told).

Re: It is home!
Any updates Randy? I'm coming back to Maine on the 15th and will be around for a week. I'd love to drop in and take a look and check out the Westy and shoot the sh*t. I'll send you a PM or email and see if you'll be around. Maybe I can lend a hand for a few hours.
