Yeah the VW world seems to be drying up in Portland, since the big migration here started. It has been tough to find steady work on air cooleds. It is also now impossible to find a local Bus for less than many thousands. This all happened rather abruptly.
What a bummer, I've heard so much about the vw bus scene in Portland. I never got a chance to check it out when I was in Seattle. Maybe I can check it out next week at Lucky Labs :)

The Portland VW scene is far, far from dried up. Granted buses have soared in price sure. But there are still tons around town and quite a bit of activity in many quarters.

Bob is being cranky.

I have seen some daily drivers. Your time stamp is off. You are answering the above post two hours before it happens. Now that is talent.

No Death Valley? No Mom's Diner in Parumph? I just like saying that.

Not this year's itinerary. Had I known that Chloe's Compromised Engine was utterly unflappable in extreme heat . . . I might have enjoyed a run through Death Valley. It was 107* in Saint George, that was pretty and hot. Who can guess these things? This engine was the most-nerve-wracking send-off of any itinerary, and here it is at 13,000 miles ushering in the return of the Road Warrior pedal-to-the-metal abandon.
