Whoa! So good to see this machine still rollin! Any room for a stop in Huntington Beach 8/26 before you ease down to Irvine on the 27th?

The last time you visited was Oceanside in 2005, Colin. Crazy.

Hey, Colin:

I see you're going to be seeing SGKent in Citrus Heights on August 13. If it's convenient, could I take you to lunch in the Sacramento area?

Ahhh,The Dalles. That place is the hottest spot, on the planet, that I have ever been. And, unlike being here in Miami, a person does not sweat there. It's downright unnatural. I went into the town, years ago, to try and find a sporting goods store on the way to a backpacking trip to Glacier Park. We passed by a bank building, with a large time and temperature sign outside. It said 115 degrees. When I found the sporting goods store, I asked the owner if the sign was right. He said, "Most likely, it was 112 degrees yesterday."

I'd like that. We need to fit pieces together as the date approaches. I am togetherless right now.

The Columbia River Gorge winds weren't whipping Pacific mist at you? Came down from Hambone's Middle Of Nowhere Camp yesterday morning, and it had flurried on me up the hill near Mount Hood, but was 61* windy! and cloudy in the gorge here in July. Looking forward to 112* or 115* or perhaps 121* and my record 127*.

I pass by bank buildings these days too, my condolences.

No problem. Just give me a heads up here or via PM when we get a few days away.

The Columbia River Gorge is quite a different place, and has attracted strange people for a long time. I would love to see a picture of Naranja, hot winds whipping about her flanks, parked on the hilltop by Sam Hill's Stonehenge replica, overlooking the river, far below. It is not the place for a valve adjustment, nor a place to tarry as the sun fades.

I remember the thought: refuse the touristy shot. I was going to edit out the replica!

Thanks! I needed that. Reminds me to get my ass back out west, in my bus. Gotta see what that Lab business is all about, too.

Colin, any chance you'll head back through VA on your way home?

- Doug :-)
