* Prices *

Full day $500.00 .. Half day $270.00 .. Overtime $ 50.00/hr

*Deposits*

Full day $250.00 .. Half day $135.00
PayPal to < 78vw2000@earthlink.net >

Please honor the following two critical keys to the integrity of my entire bookkeeping/records.

1. Do not send in a deposit until we have agreed upon a date!

2. Type
a) your username/real life name,
b) your address,
c) your phone number
in the PayPal comments box when you do send in your deposit!

Once your deposit has posted, you get an IAC certified red D next to the LISTED DATE and your USERNAME in the 2015 Itinerary . That is my contractual obligation to be at your door at 9:00AM on our appointed day and for you to fire up a cup of coffee already.

*Deposits shall be non-refundable if you screw up our date or your household finances collapse between now and your appointment. Let the sting be soothed by your willingness to consider it a contribution to a worthy cause to help your fellow forum members keep their beloved VWs healthy.

*Deposits shall be refunded if I screw up our date or if any other unforeseen interruption should occur (alternator bearings, for example, right Mitch?) I will endeavor to meet you halfway, and I expect that you will extend similar effort to work with me if I am delayed by a mechanical issue.

*Cash balance must be paid at end of appointment.
It is the same amount as your deposit. Be prepared ahead of time. No fooling around looking for ATMs.

*Overtime can be paid via PayPal or cash or whatever extended payment plan we have devised.

* Details*

Preparation is critical for a productive day. We will correspond only via PM here or theSamba. You will languish in my email box.

Please provide:
a) your List Of Concerns - arranged from most-important to least-important.
b) a review of your personal mechanical capabilities and hopes for development
c) a rundown of your VW's history, current state, and your dreams/goals for it
d) an assessment of your work environment > rainy day protection :cyclopsani:

We (you and I) will then generate a rough idea of what our day is likely to include. We will come up with a parts list that you need to have on-hand in time for our appointment. I will remind you (only after you have all of your parts laying out on the bench all pretty and hopeful) that the day can change in an instant if we run into what is euphemistically described here as "a higher priority", but what more often sounds like "holy what the . . . how did that, who last work this, OK, Plan B . . . "

The day begins at 9:00AM sharp with a quick review of your list. We will modify it at will. Have a pen and paper handy. Paper towels, carb spray, an under-engine pan that we can use as a rinse trap, and a clean organized environment all will help us perform good work.

Lunch, keep it childhood simple, do not try to skip it if you are prone to running out of energy.

Our usual stop time is 5:00PM, followed by clean-up, test drive and the all-important Fill-Out-The-Invoice-Correctly Review (using your latest diagnostic mechanical capabilities) that will take us to 6:00PM. Many spouses have been pleasantly surprised at the new sound of a fast flowing technical exchange that we conduct during the invoice review.

Should we be in a swamp of mechanical disarray, you may request $50.00/hr Overtime after 6:00PM. This is so you won't be stricken with guilt, and I will be able to remain courteous and cheerful as we both help keep my finances solvent. If all hell breaks loose, we can negotiate a reduced-rate deep into the night or a return visit over the next day or so. You may have to keep me in check if I take a fancy to your car and want to restore it then and there.
Colin

When you say meet you halfway?

Would that be St. Louis?

That's a tad far for me, perhaps Kansas City?
