That interior is pretty "modern" for early '60s.

Yep, this design changed the trajectory of American car design.

Love the real wood accents.

How could you go to a wedding and leave the Lincoln behind?

Delores has her $ all ready to buy a very nice little blue squareback, but so far has been disappointed by the skinny guy in Daisy Dukes. Though she is used to great disappointment having been married to me for 32+ years, she is taking this squareback issue very hard. I cannot bear to tell her now that "her" car now resides in the Empire state. I don't have the heart to crush her with this sad news.

The 1961 Lincoln Continental was the first *actually tasteful* American car design since the tailfins chromey sharky teeth bulbo-blob acres of idiocy that had befallen everybody at the end of the 50s.

1962 was the last pretty one of this era.

I have always considered the 1960 Lincoln to be one of the ugliest cars made (too much Edsel influence) while the 61's are really beautiful. My father's friend has a restored 61 convertible that is blue with a white leather interior he drives on summer days/nights only. Truly a design trend setter for American automobiles. When will you repaint it?
