I was the first stop on this year's tour, and spent many hours laboring under the master's guidance. We had wonderful working conditions here in Miami, and Colin suffered only slightly from the late afternoon mosquitoes. I will post pics, as well as a full report, just as soon as I figure out how to post them. Important: Have the COFFEE ready! Black.

I only gripe because I only see your skinny ass once a year. Not enuff.
But look at the Minnesota Contingent grow! Maybe Mpls is the new Portland! :geek: In fact, we're setting up a IAC VW Beer Social at the local Beer Hall. :occasion5:

Remember to drive the Moki Dugway, like you promised me you would.
How about a map?
Given the endpoints, travel will be down the cliff. Refresh the brakes at the top?

Indeed, perhaps Minnesota is the New Happenin' Spot for old air-cooled VWs.
Maybe the beer is even BETTER!
Well, maybe . . .
Maybe the parking is JUST NOT A PROBLEM!
MAYBE YOU ALL GOT TOO GOOD AT FIXING YOUR VW'S!!!!!!!!! D'JA THINK OF THAT????

Okay, I was pokey this year but here's the map. (I left off jimbear in Oconabawacahachee GA because there is no Oconabawacahachee GA.) Screwiest path yet?
There is of course 0% chance Colin will follow this route, but if he did, here's its elevation profile (enlarge it). It's realllllllly stretched out on the x-axis and the colors have nothing to do with the colors on the map.

Safe travels and sunny weather.

PM'd. Must be warm, sunny, roomy, clean, coffee, decent parts, and jeanna123 shunted off the schedule if the deposit does not come through.

It'll be late June so warm & sunny are most likely. I have a two car driveway (roomy) and the wife is a coffee addict too (I prefer tea). Driveway and bedroom are clean. I have a seven year old son who is hell bent on soiling the world. So, the rest of the house, not so clean. Tell me where jeanna123 lives and I'll make sure she does not come through (just kidding......kinda :geek: ). I'll even provide the Diet Coke!

We also have a 3rd bedroom with it's own 1/2 bath that belongs to a roommate who is here about 12 hours a week. So a bed is available if needed.

Hi Colin, just a wild long shot here...couldn't help but toss it out, never hurts to ask, etc:

we're (me and the misses) starting a road trip here next week - from Edmonton, AB to LA and back again. about 5000miles, june20 through to the 8th. 1972 hardtop bus 2L camper special, LJet, 091 trans, 5000km on the new engine so far. no problems drive train wise.

I see we will be in the Portland area around the same time as you are - in fact were scheduling to be there the same night (24th) then tracking south down the 101/coastline...not much more than a day or two in any particular location, mostly just one night stands. (1975 fold out westy bed and a BN4!) in LA 29/30th -ish. leave towards home by the 1st.

If by any chance you're not terribly busy and we're not terribly driving, think we could try and contact you just for a hello and handshake, or who knows, maybe my bus will be limping by then and desperately need a Itinerant visit for some reason or another?

mainly it would be a great pleasure to meet you.

Wish us luck!

Yes. Let's do it. We can synchronize a social call at the Lucky Lab on the evening of the 24th?

I will be at the damp Lucky Lab on the forecasttoberainy evening of the 24th between 6:00PM and 9:00PM.
Then I am driving my soggyrainybutt towards mistycoldEurekaCa that evening.
I WILL layover in Redding, CA on the 25th/26th if it is sunny there.

Some day, I will experience two sunny days in a row.
