Little slow on the uptake there, Sluggo. Connecting rods bend.
We rarely see them "only bent" though, because usually any force that hits a rod enough to bend it while it is running, is usually also grenading the engine into pieces.

I work for a company that sells dynamometers and engine testing equipment / software.  You should see what happens when a cylinder gets a bunch of fuel in it (hydrostatic lock), and a motoring dyno tries to spin it with a several hundred foot-pounds of torque!
