Itinerant Air-Cooled Greetings From Oregon

Post by Amskeptic » Mon Jun 23, 2008 11:04 pm

This is a beautiful country. Although I have been complaining incessantly about being gyped of a hot sunny summer so far, there have been some stunning vistas.

How can you not be in love with this planet?

I am in Portland for the next week. Hope to get a Lucky Lab gathering together. . . .

I'm sure we can order a heatwave for you when you come to southern California. We just ended a 5 day stretch over 105 degrees, one day of which was 110. (melting)

Cloudy skies and snowy mountains seem appealing to me right now. Very lovely photos.

I have sold the trailer and now we have room to work on VWs in the shade of the carport. I bought some fogger jets to use with drip irrigation tubing, in case we need some relief from heat.

Colin the forecast for our day together is 98. I hope they're wrong.

It's not Colin I'm worried about. Those tight shorts he wears are like those G-Force, blackout suits fighter pilots used to wear that contrict your blood vessels from going to your legs.

I, on the other hand, am in trouble.

only 76 for tomorrow? awesome.

who is taking bets that I did NOT get every single part for the rebuild with colin?

I'm saying the odds are 5/2 that I got it wrong. Of course, secretly I'm hoping I didn't, but you never know....

I had to have the German girl go to Always today to pick up Rod bearings b/c Dan Hall (said they had a pair, but were rusted), Trafton, and Halsey didn't have any.

Acquiring the proper parts is like having to be a project manager for a doomed endeavor.

I'll second the notion. Although it's been a little cooler than last week's 105*.

A Lucky Lab meet? Whilst I and the family are in Portland? Oooooh, maybe we could swing my in our, gasp, Honda Crv. Totoro's clutch decided to start slipping pretty good on Monday. :( So no camping this weekend like we thought. Anyway, I'll keep my eyes peeled for any info on a time/date for the Lab.

Hey I moved here from Phoenix, by way of California. I figure Californians are going to move up here anyway, might as well be cool folks with VW Buses in tow.

Though PJ, it can't be hot where you live...right?
