THANKS! The first route looks like the right way for me.

Got my all important shovel and a mess kit today. Can't find a good percolator so I'll probably bug one (or all) of you guys.

Funny you should mention that, this will be my first campout without fresh ground coffee, not including those times when I forget it.

This stuff makes a decent cup'o'joe, and no cleaning out the french press.

FUCK. I have to bail.

The drug-addled piece of shit that Mary's daughter's turned into has decided she doesn't need to be in rehab, she needs to be in California "with her baby" -- despite the fact that the baby's father isn't letting her anywhere *NEAR* the kid. And since it's a voluntary program, they can't & won't keep her there if she wants to leave.

So I get to throw ALL MY PLANS out the window and go pick her up from the facility this evening, and spend AT LEAST most of tomorrow getting her on an Amtrak train or Greyhound bus back to Santa Rosa. By the time we're through with that it'll be at least 3:00 (train), possibly 6:30 (greyhound) .. assuming we can get the idiot on her way tomorrow instead of Sunday or Monday.

I hope to god *someone* is making it VERY VERY CLEAR to her that this is IT if she leaves, and that she doesn't get to come back in a week or two if she changes her mind. Even if the rehab is willing to take her back, I'm not going to put up with much more of this shit -- we'd been through this bullshit before with her, and I AM NOT going to keep going through this shit over and over and over. Her mother shouldn't have to keep going through this shit either.

That post was in the immediate aftermath of Mary's call to me about the current round of bullshit. I'm calmer now -- but still not too happy about it...

Returned home wet and dirty from a GREAT 'lil IAC campy trip. Weather Friday was awesome. Saturday about 40 minutes total of intermitent rain until about 8pm when the sky decided to fall. We all packed up a wet, dirty camp and headed home. Huge fire, huge sausages (at least mine anyways), lots of shared food and drink. Bocce ball champ is Eli...glad to have had him on my team...the lad scored MANY points. Thanks a bunch guys...the weather actually cooperated pretty darn well when you think of how shitty it could have been ALL weekend. And...Thanks Jasan...large Ezy Awning order placed...now to dry all this shit out. Tetley and the mouse was the epic part of the adventure. We'll let someone else share that one. Clifford ran perfect on the way home! I actually took a few photos this time...here they are...I'm sure there will be many more coming. Thanks again Vanwilder, Sluggo, Hambone, Spiffy, Westy78, LiveonJG...great IAC Pacific NW outing

Man I'm glad we got out of there when we did. Snowing and raining like hell coming over the mountain. Couldn't get much better Friday and Saturday though considering the time of year. We definitely need to visit that area again in the summer.

I'm glad to hear you all made it out. Wind snow and rain in the mountains, then heavy winds. then sun. then blinding rain, then to keep it fresh, blinding rain and wicked winds just outside of Eugene. Fun drive back home.

Great weekend!

I'll post a few pics later, way too tired right now.
