Marengo Ridge, then the swap meet/ car show

Post by chitwnvw » Sun Aug 15, 2010 6:46 pm

So the Northeast Illinois Volkswagen Association (NIVA) has their annual show in Crystal Lake on September 19th. http://www.nivaclub.org/comingevents.html .

Whose up for camping at Marengo Ridge http://www.mccdistrict.org/web/re-camping.htm on September 18th to the 19th, then some breakfast and off to the show?

I actually am thinking of showing up on the Friday the 17th and doing a 2 night dealy-o.

Who is in?

Ciao. Chi.

She's a keeper if she'll let you take her to a car show on the first day of your honeymoon! :joker:

As of now we are in for camping and the show.

We took a day trip to Marengo Ridge in July and checked it out. Been meaning to get out there for an overnight.

It is a nice campground, lots of oaks that rain acorns on your bus at night! IIRC about a half hour from the show.

Congrats!

I'd love to make this but we're already scheduled to be camping in Door County. Maybe next year...

Thanks for the Congrats everyone.

As for the 76, not much has been happening....Cash has been going to the wedding fund, but I hope to get a little cash from the wedding and buy the rest of the needed parts. We took the 72 out to Alpine Valley to see phish last night and it was the star of the parking lot!!

Nice! I was at Alpine for Saturday's show(sans bus). Saw lots of buses at the Deer Creek shows.

I will try. But this will be tough as we are moving by the end of September (where, nobody knows yet), and my season is winding down, which means more work for me, as most of our people are going back to school, leaving more work for me. I will now plan on it though. :pirate:
