Athens VW Club Camp out 6/08

Post by Treehive » Wed Jul 02, 2008 11:26 am

This was the first time that I met everyone in the group for a camp out in Rabun Wilderness in North GA. It wasn't a huge turn out, but the Vdubs in attendance were (not everyone drove their babies up the mountain) 74 Westy, 74 Camper, 67 Westy, 71 Beetle, and a sweet 64 beetle. Here is a pic of a few of the vw's:

Em and I rested our heads in the Hive with two of our dogs, but we got some serious lounging in on our Hammock:

This was heavenly and the weather was beautiful that weekend:

The group took a short hike with all the dogs in the camp (8 dogs total, and they all got along beautifully.......probably kept all the critters out of the camp). Here is a couple of pics from the walk, and Panther Falls:

We ended Saturday night with a low country boil: Corn, shrimp, sausage, potatoes, and sat by a fire telling stories that should never be repeated. It was a great time. Just wanted to share some pics and take this chance to say "hello, and nice to meet you to everyone on the forum"! Take my advice and stay away from the magic mushrooms or everyone you meet looks a bit more like this
