Hey Hambone,
Looks like summer of 2013 was your last venture to Linney Creek.
How about Fathers day weekend 2017?

I'd be up for a wilderness camp! Love to spend a week out there again.

First right after you go down Abbot Road. Maybe 1/4 mile? It's a narrow camp-road that opens up into a nice open place.

All depends on the snow..should be OK though. 26 is the only way in, you can't come in thru the Clackamas yet. Up thru Timothy Lake.

well we got a spare night and i had a dad's day to cash in so we got out the MHNF last night. it'd been awhile since we'd had a family camp so we ended up at summit lake on a beautiful night with not a soul and only one driveby. on the way out this morning i wanted to see if y'all had got up there so we drove all the way in to linney creek. holy shit, that is a drive. the 2wd did great but there were a couple spots i was really sweating have to do again on the return. but we were puzzled as to what you do when you get there. not really a van camp spot unless i'm missing something cause of the parking lot slope. and anyway the action is all down creekside.

but summit was just great, wife loved it, thanks for that! leaches, though.

Linney Camp is now next weekend, the 23rd. Make it if you can!

Tent camps are along the creek, but we just Bus camp up on top at the end of the road. It is very flat up there and you can fit a few Buses. Lots to do around there, trails, creeks..Salmon R. is 1/2 mile away via trail. I have spent many a week up there, but it has been 3 years since.
Leaches at Summit, I didn't know. Did you get any? Sorry we missed you but the weather and Mike made us change the date to next weekend.

Did you make it to the end of the road? Look at the pic, it's pretty flat unless something happened. We've fit a few VWs up there over the years.
Well, FLAT by mountain standards anyway....

I'm planning on staying til Tuesday if you can make it out for a couple of days. Glad that road survived too! I always wonder about those old roads, if they survive the winter or other fates. Almost 100 years old with very little maintenance, built really well.
STILL waiting to hear from Mike and Jasan or anyone else. I can't make it out until Friday or even Thurs late (leaving Portland at 8:00) if someone will be out there...not nuts about driving in the dark my eyes go to shit. SO BE IT
Linney, trust me it's a doozy.

I'll try to get out Thurs nite, no promises though!
According to the snowpack map, there is still a trace of snow left on the high point of 58 Road, otherwise it has mostly melted in that area.
