Yeah it reminded me why I hate driving that highway in the bus. I really need to overhaul my front suspension too. So, Pot Creek? Big Bottom?

People drive like assholes, don't let it bother you so much. And as "bad" as you think the drivers around here are .. trust me, they've got NOTHING on some of the shit I saw in Sonoma, Marin, Napa and Lake Counties last month in California. :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire: :argue: :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire:

Now .. where are we going?

Work-wise it looks like I can get Saturday off but can't get Sunday .. so I either have to do an early-morning escape Sunday or jet home Saturday evening. On the other hand, I can head out Thursday noonish...

I hope to make this a multi-day trip so I can probably accommodate you. Really want to check out Fire Spr. just above Big Bottom. I camped up there 15 years ago and haven't been back, now I see the Skyline went right thru there, how is that for serendipity? We have to stay below 3500' this time of year limiting options anyway.
I will post directions etc.

224 past Estacada SE
FS 46 at Ripplebrook
Plan A:

And left or right at that final junction. SOMEWHERE IN THE VICINITY is what I'm saying.

Plan B:
https://www.google.com/maps/dir/45.0172 ... 776,14.75z
just behind Big Bottom

Watch for the orange hubcap. Only reason for plan B is I haven't been to Plan A in a number of years...we will see.

I really hope the nice weather holds out, and we can do some real exploring up there. It was a high-class trail that went through there, before the trees became too valuable in the 1950s. I'm sure part of it is an ancient route; it is no coincidence that the meadows and springs are strung together, and along a logical course of the land like they always seem to be.
Of course it could all be lost, it was a long time ago. "many roads past"

Crap, I might not be able to make this one. Jill is gone to outdoor school for two weeks then which means I've got the hounds to take care of.

Well you see this here is the dilemma. Until I either get the top bunk reinstalled or a side tent, 200lbs of dog and me don't fit in the bus all that well. And the puppy is only half grown!

Lots of clearcuts...

Bah that's too bad Mike. I was wondering about you.
I am hoping to go out mid-week if you have any vacation time.

Yeah man it will be a hoot! Glad you can make it. Are you taking your Bus? Is it back on the road?
Still trying to twist that Gypsie's arm.
