2013 Wherever Camp 9/27ish

Post by DjEep » Sun Jun 09, 2013 9:41 pm

I know all the Oregonians are caught up in Maupin Fever for the next couple weeks, but after that...

...It might be about time to go back to...wherever that was. Duty calls.

Hopefully there will be a big honkin' gravel sweeper to clear out the road. :D

I'd like to go back and see how our handy work held up over the winter.

Possibly, let me see what is going on.
Mid July will be passing thru your area DJ, will be camping on the west side of Diamond Peak. Taking the all-wilderness route back from Ashland! Time to get the Bus really dialed in.

Map it out, maybe we can do a snow-trip excursion through there in early February. :cyclopsani:

Hey missed ya at Hambone!

Mosquitoes ate my face off at Diamond Peak. Wife at the rest.

Some time in mid-September?
Cottonwood Camp is also on the burner somewhere boilin' over.

I really wanted to hit the Hambone trip, but felt obligated to go on the first official cruise with the new local bus club. I'll make at least one this summer!

I'm leaving for hunting for a week on the 27th. I'm open for a trip later in October though.

My next camp will be Old Maid Flats, breaking in a new engine. So no firm date, just hopefully before the fungi fade this season.

The 28th weekend works but I'm also open for the second or third weekend of Oct.
Has anyone ventured up since last year to see if we can get into camp, or are we parking along the roadside?

If we can't get to the camp, continue another mile or so on abbot. There is another decent camp by plazah Lake. A bit crowded, but nice.
God willing we'll have another camp before winter, the infamous Sausage Festival/hunter's moon.
