Melissa has a choir concert Friday night.
Maybe early Saturday if the world is still in one piece, and even then I might go.

Pot Creek:
http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=portl ... s&t=m&z=10
224 past Estacada to Ripplebrook
46 at Ripplebrook
Pass 63 (to your right)
stay on 46 all the way to the camp, following the Clackamas
Just past 4660 (goes uphill to your left) take the next driveway to your left. Follow it 1/8 mile to the end.
If you hit 42 then you've gone too far.
If the snow is too deep, we'll be somewhere along the way, possibly a Forest Service campground. Watch for VW signs or a nekkid ass or 2.
This is winter camping! Please come prepared with tire chains (you may need to chain up) and plenty of warm clothes and rainwear. And drive carefully out there, the roads are often icy this time of year.

I'm a 92.786% possibility. I am so long overdue for a 'lil campy trip I can smell it (oh, no...that's Bob) ... anyhoo, if I go, I will very much like to head out Thursday morning. 2 nights just isn't enough ....

Hmmm I may be able to swing something. I'd have to find care for Eva for Thursday but that's my only obligation.

I have someone who is watching Eva so I'm free to go at 1:00 on Thursday. I sure don't want to sit out there by myself though!

I, I, I, I need to. I must. The ranks will need to humor my pretzel route to allow me to come up from warm then spread east. I need to see seventy five Volkswagens all at once, under music, with beer and starry skies for all.

Re: December 21st 2012 End Of The World (Winter Solstice) Ca
It ain't winter camping unless you are required to build a small fire behind the bus, let it burn down to coals, and then push your bus over the top of the fire pit and let it sit there for 20 minutes just to have a hope of turning the engine over. Been there. Done that.hambone wrote:Pot Creek:

Wish I could come on the trip. You guys will probably be the only survivors of the coming apocalypse.

I may or may not be able to attend, so far things are looking up as dad has finally concluded that he wants to take the car in for clutch work.
Also have to make sure I actually don't have stuff to do. :)

Re: December 21st 2012 End Of The World (Winter Solstice) Ca
It's great that so many people are braving the weather, I'm stoked.
The weather for the area in the next week is all over the map. Rain, snow, frogs God knows. I wouldn't be surprised to deal with some snow, but it could also be all rain too. At around 2000' anything can happen this time o' year.
Unless it's impassable I will push on towards Pot Creek. Otherwise we'll be somewhere along the way. Keep your eyes peeled on the way in!
