4/20-4/22?

Post by tristessa » Fri Mar 16, 2012 12:40 pm

Hammy, should we go campin' for our birthday?

The way things have shaped up, that's honestly the first chance I have to get out of town into the woods.

Backpacking down Eagle Creek! We'd have to get out early to get a good spot. I know just the place about 3 miles in, right on the river.

Who's in???? Come on when was the last time you went backpacking? And this is an easy one. (fishing too)

I'll be there. Been looking forward to it since you mentioned it a few months ago.

Two of our fine members have birthdays on 4/20!

Do you have a backpack?
Mtn. Shop rents them, and Next Adventure (used to, at least...) sells old ones for cheap.
I got mine at a garage sale for $10, has lots of miles on it over the years.

Would it be possible for a long lost busketeer to join? I've got a backpack and all! :compress:

Whathaveyouheard? :blackeye:

I'll also be in Pdx next Wednesday night, if anyone wants to grab a beer with me, my sister, and the previous owner of my Ghia, all good folks.

A couple miles of backpackin in the rain with the guys will be good for me. Last time I carried a pack, it was 3 miles skiing blindly through a slushy blizzard after midnite, after chivalrously giving my headlamp to my skiing companion when hers died, only to immediately lose my spare flashlight, only to have said companion pull out "this flashlight she found" as soon as we made camp... :cussing: She didn't last long as a traveling companion. :geek:

But yes! Buses! Beer! Backpacks! Bluegrass! Bozos! Beer!

So this is 3 weeks away! Anyone else interested in going? Maybe we can bus-pool so there are fewer vehicles lying around at the trailhead.
Should be a great one, it's quite a wilderness area.
I think Eva will be going, so this will be kid friendly. We'll see anyway.

Would more people show up to the 4/20 camp if we made it a bus camp instead, and push the backpacking trip to May? It would certainly be warmer.
I was thinking Pot Creek would be appropriate.
Thought I would put that option out there. If nobody cares then we'll just stick to the original plan.

I am working that Saturday. I could make a bus campout the following week, April 28 / 29.

There was rumbling last night that if we change the date to the 28th then more people will show up. Mebbe you bastards can confirm this.
It seems a shame to lose our illustrious 4/20 date but I can live with it.
Pot Creek is EZ. 46 past Ripplebrook to Big Bottom. First gravel left past 42. All paved. :sunny:

Well if we are camping at Pot Creek, it has to be on 4/20. :flower:

I'm game any way ya plan it. But we don't need no paved roads! :thumbright:
