Camping tip. Sub Artic areas.

Take a flame thrower to repell bugs roaming there. :joker:

That can't perform well with a T1 motor. I could see living 'down by the river' in that thing.

I used to see one of these in Delavan, WI when I was a pool guy one summer. Those things must be slow.
Wonder how the engine gets any airflow?

Must be fun in the crosswinds.

If I showed up at Maupin in it, would I have to park with the Astros?

Check out this site. Great stuff. The German shovels they have are to die for...best folding camp shovel I've ever seen. And, check out the big Swedish bow saw. I just got one...haven't used it yet, but looks and feels like a wood cutting beast.

Until you feel one of the German (and I don't like them JUST because they are from that country) E-tools you will never go back to a "crapper" shovel of any other make. Thank you Gypsie for enlightening us. A mini shovel, entrencher with some weight to it, compact and useful.

Mark, that czech axe looked like it might be useful too.....

Spiff, I feel like you've been elevated to sage. The weight of your words is evident.

Why of course not. An abomination sitting atop a plucky loyal VW is still a plucky loyal VW. Astros on the other hand. . . why, they are an abomination topside, bottomside, sideside and other sideside, frontside and rearside.

Yes, Gyspie does deserve credit for digging up the initial shovel. I had to locate another source as the PDX source was "out". Yeah, that axe does look handy. Browse their whole site, they have some pretty cool schtuff. These guys are great. VERY fast shipping. I picked up a couple of heavy duty canvas stuff sacks too for like $1.50. Needed something to carry rebar stakes in for river trips (ya know how the wind can blow on the Deschutes).

I use my Pulaski-axe digging end to dig a quick poop-hole. They're handy tools, and not too pricey at about $30. You can get them at Dick's Logging Supply in Estacada (and elsewhere).
