Nice totem! Is his collar a manifold boot off of your old motor?

It's the exhaust gasket and manifold boot from my old engine. Glad to see wilson guarding the fire pit.

Looks like a great trip! Is that the park near Salem? Think I went there a long time ago...

yeah it's about 24 miles east of Salem. Really pretty. Great state park.

I've traveled all over the country in the bus, and Oregon has *by far* the best state park system. Hands down.

I have never tried the Oregon state park system. My most favorite state park would probably be Custer State Park in South Dakota. Michigan has some nice state parks. Illinois has some too.

Custer is a good one. Been there a couple of times.

The point I was trying to make is that Oregon's system is a winner. I've never been to one of their parks that wasn't clean, well-organized, and pretty, to boot.

I believe ya. Minnesota has a few good ones too. Itasca is pretty cool.

I definitely agree, the best state park system (and the most for any state) in the country.

How can you state that? Have you stayed at all the parks in every state? Or even multiple parks in every state?

You can say they have a great park system. Maybe even the best park system in the northwest, but your claim in incredulous!

Oregon probably has a super system. I have never tried a single one since the federal lands are so big and they're free. This is a good question and I don't doubt Oregon has one of the best state park systems, but yeah chitwn, there are so many states I've never even been to. I would guess some of the New England states as well as New York (Adirondack) and Pennsylvania have some really nice state parks. My most favorite is Custer but I bet Nevada has some really cool stuff too. But Nevada is like 86% federally owned.

Let's not forget California.

Some day IFBwax. I have relatives in SoCal - San Diego and Ojai. Ojai seems nice. I lived in L.A. for a year and never really got out of the "city". Man, that place is huge.
