Camping in snow is awesome! A good fire, good bedding, good company, warm food and fine drink make it more than bearable.

It really wasn't that cold. Besides you get to sleep in a bed! Not like sleeping under a tree.
Warm rain camping is fun too. Totally changes the place.

FWIW, the Mayans had no leap years in their calendar so the end of the world would have been a few years back.
Just sayin'.

Thought of something...
Breitenbush has a Solstice Celebration every winter. So traffic may be heavier than norm. But that might just mean more interesting people to meet....

Pot Creek was pretty cool, and easy to get to. There are plenty low-elevation camps around the Clack. I really must keep it closer due to finances if at all possible.
(there is a hummingbird outside the window drinking gallons of syrup oop there he goes!)
