Colin –
I am wayyy behind the times . . .. just now, 5/16/07, I realized you have your own forum board.
I haven’t been on samba that often but more so recently now that I am putting the bus back on the road for the season – I assumed you were not posting there at all and I noticed a post from you on the samba, then noticed the link to your website.
Anyway, I notice you mentioned a NE loop in early June and specifically mentioned Lemon-town (Leominster, MA). Assuming you were calling me out unless there is another avid ACVW Bus owner in Leominster that I don’t know about.
I am good to go if its not too late to sign up!!
Let me know.
I’ll have the engine + tranny dropped and ready to go with some good tasks:
1. Throw out bearing/clutch (tranny whines when in neutral, but when foot is slightly pressed on clutch pedal, the noise goes away completely; I also pop out of 4th sometimes, but I think that’s a whole separate issue – I am currently chasing down an old offer to pull a ’71 tranny and may have that on site). Would love to replace all the bushings on my shifter rod while the engine + tranny are out.
2. Other engine stuff I know I could do, but would gladly hire a second hand for the day to keep me straight to make sure I don’t mess up too bad. I want to replace air intake manifold – I’ve got another manifold with cleaned out heat riser tubes ready to swap out), plus other miscellaneous stuff.

We're old hands at that. And straightening mangled engine tin-through-the-mail, as I remember. Did you get the doghouse flap lever sorted out?ry-dog wrote:

No need to shoot anybody!! - I know you are kidding.
June 10-11 sounds great to me. 10th is a Sunday; 11th a Monday - just let me know which date looks best when you know - I just have to let work know if I need to take Monday the 11th off or not.
I did obtain the correct air flap connecting rod for the doghouse fan shroud, so thats ready to be installed when the engine is out.
Looking forward to another visit - I will order up my clutch parts now so that we'll have them on hand by the 10th.
