73 Westfalia at Eureka, Ca junkyard. For sale or scrap soon

This is at our local junk yard. It was impounded, and there's maybe a week or so left before it's either sold or moved to the 'yard for picking/pulling/scrapping.

They want $1000 to buy it before it's scrapped. It supposedly runs, just roughly. Someone was trying to sell it a year or so ago on Craigslist for $3k.

Id be in a better position to consider saving it myself, if we didn't just buy the wife a new (used) car last night. Got a good deal on an Outback with the 3.0 6cyl - very fun car.

Im tempted though. damnit.

Hell, I'm tapped on that crankcase purchase, now it's your turn.

This was an old post, what happened?
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue, I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace. Where never lark, or even eagle flew. And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod, The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

it was saved, just not by me.

I have met a few local bus guys lately that are buying up everything that shows up. saving the ones that are worth saving and using others to Frankenstein other projects into life.
