Re: VW Bus Selling Advice
Sorry man. Gotta be tough this time of year when the weather is starting to point towards bus season here in the midwest. There's another one out there for you somewhere....

Rule #3. Keep looking and have your piggybank at the ready. These cars do NOT bite you.
The longer you enjoy them, the more the market will get you rightside up.
Colin
( I have seen about five nice Westies over the past year. Three were stupidly over-priced. I am sure that I could have demoralized the sellers with a technically-accurate and devastating report on all of its flaws, then made an offer)

Re: VW Bus Selling Advice
My lord, the prices on camper are a never ending mystery. But almost always on the climbing side.
I started in 1995 with a 1978 camper (sage green) that had paper on it to the original owner. After 2 years shopping, this was the nicest sounding camper I came across. It had just over 100k documented miles on it, and the seller sail "everything works"!! Right?!?!
Bought it for $2500, and sold it in 2007, with 200k miles, for $4500. There were people offering over my asking price, but I found a good family for the camper, and I am pleased. It was my daily driver for a few years.
Others:
1972 camper. Bought $350, two was $350, sold four years later $4000. (advertised for $3900, but told the purchaser he should offer me $4000. He wound up being very happy about all the extra stuff I gave him.)
1976 Hightop camper. Bought for $900, sold for $6000. Only had 75k miles.
1969 camper. Bought $350, sold $350 to someone wanting to join the communuty.
1974 camper.$500 bought, $750 sold.
This is all I remember right now.
I am driving a 1973/1978 camper (was 1978, but finally put back on the road as a 1973, because I had 1973 YOM plates.)
I can't tell you what I payed for it (fire survivor), but I can later tell you what it will sell for, after full reconstruction, but NOT RESTORATION! I put it back like I would keep it. Bought 2006, still have it
