Hambone Springs 7-20-07 to 7-22-07

Post by hambone » Mon Jun 25, 2007 9:52 am

Anyone interested? (the dates are flexible) My favorite place in NW Oregon. An abandoned campground between 2 large wilderness areas, accessible by the 1st gear Abbot Road. Abandoned trails abound! Close to Portland too.

No NW trip for you this summer? I think that's the first time in many years! What about in August or Sept?

I'd be motivated a lot by mushrooms. That would be what, late October or maybe November? I know very little. Of course it would be only for research purposes unless we had somebody who knows with us. Lots of waterproof apparel and I'll get a nice tent. Next year I'll be a lot closer. Jen has to finish school.

Camping in November is a lot like that rainy May at Rho Creek, so be prepared! Some times not a lot of fun. Summer is prime time, but $$ is $$.

Yeah I figured as much Jasan. Can you get a Friday off?

Also planning a backpack trip July 25 with my daughter. Maybe take a bit of a road trip somewhere, Eagle Cap maybe? Big world..
