Believe me I drank gallons of that stuff in Chicago with my friends from PR. It's much better in bottles.
Traffic usually isn't too bad once you get out of metro areas.
What is the protocol etc. for these Wetwesties gatherings? I've never been. What should I expect?

You can bring something to cook up if you want to participate in the pot luck.....there is usually tons of food, pretty darn good too!

Very laid back people and alot of respect for the VW's.....pretty much do whatever you want and meet some folks and talk shop.

The vanagon folks can get a little weird (pot calling kettle black!)..I think I told about the guy that helped himself to my unopened mirror pond that was sitting in the cup holder of my chair.....who does that? I would have been happy to give him one if would have just asked.....besides that little incident I have always had a blast with the group.

The coast is amazing in the winter, mama ocean at her fiercest.

Probably not many pickles out there, but I am sure we can coin a new food for the prevailing smell.

I'll be heading out hopefully by noon-thirty or so. For me I head straight towards Seaside on 26 and then south on 101. By the time you reach 101 your not far from Nehalem, like 10 miles, so meeting up might be moot.

As for etiquette for the WetWesties there really isn't any. A little something for the potluck on Saturday is pretty much the only organized event. Bev has described it best as trying to heard cats. It's basically a do whatever you want type of thang. Looks like the weather might hold out for us to!! Hope that east wind keeps blowin.
Chorizo, it's what's for breakfast.

Saturday: Partly sunny. Highs around 50.

Now that's what I call Feb! We must attract the Sun Gods. Relatively speaking of course.

Weather report is currently looking good! Beats last year...totally cloudy with 90 mph winds (that was only for part of the time...it actually turned out ok) still finding sand in wierd places in Gus. I'm heading out Thursday so I'll have (weather/wind permitting) a fire tuned up when you all arrive...shoot, I'll likely be pretty tuned up by then :drunken: Looking forward to it...appears the weather gods may just cooperate.

And Bob...yes, these are laid-back..do your own thing...nap if you want...read if you want...play music if you want...hang on the beach if you want...drink if you want....piss off the park host even when you don't intend to (get that 10 week old puppy who's 20 campsites away from the nearest person on a leash before I have you thrown out!....Yes sir, will do) all according to a strict schedule, of course :geek: Tis gonna be a fun weekend...I've been looking forward for months....

We won't get out of Portland until 5 or 6 pm....so will roll in after dark. Still can't decide what to bring to the potluck.

Me neither. I'll probably fall back on the Swedish meatballs. They always seem to disappear pretty quick. And they're super easy to make.
