** Because I was thread-clogging a bit, I deleted a few posts of mine. **

Oh meh gawwwddsss, just a half till the camp-out!!!

So excited!

Who's heading down when? I wanna do a caravan as big as possible! ... Maybe? =D

Looking at going down on Thursday, maybe Friday!

And yes, I am bringing a KEG with me. Beer TBA, likely something of mildly hoppy/neutral variety.

ADDED: Keg has been ordered, by puppuler demand Super Dog!

I am way too excited for my own good...

My schedule slid quite a bit, so I'll be leaving for Maupin on Friday. At this point of time I gotta do some prep on the Van.

Otherwise everything's good, and I got the Keg. It is a 5 gal instead of the usual 7.5, soooo it will go a bit quicker. =)

Added: Woohoo! Proper oil cooler installed.

Alas, bailing. Too much. We've only been home two days in the last two weeks. While Bertha is game, there are minor concerns. Finances continue to be a challenge. The camp Easter onslaught of children, sibs, family is upon us soon, just going to build a fire and lay low. And the rain.

Pictures: Few and far between, hanging out seemed to be the priority this year as I have missed hanging with the crew so much. I'll be able to upload a few in the next few days.

Stories: Well, I decided to do a field service - aka, "Something cool to do Saturday" - and ended up changing out my non-pop window seals. The 2 rear windows, the 2 large side windows and 2 tiny side windows consumed some 40 feet of 2-piece window seal for the van.

The main seal on my van ridiculous to install as it is and I chewed up some of the rubber for sure. Oh well, still better than it was.
Thankfully Hal mentioned that the locking strip will require a tool, so with some hernia inducing force I finished my window installation work. Otherwise it would've been nigh-on impossible.

On the plus side, even after 45 years all of the window lips are all in great condition. The old seals were ripe for changing, the rubber crackled and shattered as I was pulling it out.

New beers:
I took two SoCal local brews, the Stone Enjoy By and Green Flash Imperial IPA and neither of those really measured up to the local brews.
Somebody brought the Ecliptic Spica Hefepils, which is a fairly new Portland brewery, and that turned out to be a really interesting mix. There was also a wheat IPA, which had a wheat front and IPA pallet. There was also a really nice Pilsner, although I don't remember who brewed that either.

We couldn't make it this year as the graduation of M's son from UCSB was the big event of the weekend. Exciting but a very sad grad ceremony as they celebrated the 6 students who died 3 weeks ago in the senseless killing spree there.
