jalousie window crank replacement

Post by airkooledchris » Mon Mar 14, 2011 11:02 am

You know, those black knobs that eventually strip out or crack and some PO probably replaced with a pair of pliers?

you can find them new still.

I ordered a replacement off of Amazon, and this is the company that makes them:

This is the item on Amazon directly: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006I0MV8

It was more on Amazon that other places I found it, but I had other stuff to order and it then qualified to ship for free, so it was cheaper in the long run just due to that.

of the two jalousie windows I have in the garage, only one had it's crank, and it looks identical to the original - only in shiny black color.

they look identical from the front, and basically the same from the back.
I cannot say for sure that my 'original' one is actually an original one, there are no stampings of any kind on it.
