From what I've gathered a cheap replacement color, almost a direct match is:
Duplicolor T205 Wimbledon White
I will buy a can and verify. MUCH cheaper than Napa special mix.

It's a shade off, but close enough.

I agree. Ive used it on '69 Elwood, also original Lotus White, but has PO bad blu paint on bottom. Ive used the wimbledon on the tin top and around windsheild rust repair spots. Hard to find sometime at Wally World or PepBoys , but they will order for you. Also a close match Ive used for under seats and floor, engine compartment , Battery area after metal replacement tray is Rustolium "Canvas White" really close match.hambone wrote:It's a shade off, but close enough.

Consider also the quality of the paint. VW's own touch-up Autobahn L90D pastel white was a magnificent quality paint with a "waste of perfectly good paint" amount of clear in it to give you depth, and the correct amount of pearlescent and a tad of flex. Cheapo paints can give a good match with no depth and a propensity to go flat and peel off the instant they dry.hambone wrote:Every time I try to make my bus "perfect", time and fate step in and remind me that the mind is flawed.

Cracks can also let the bad elements in.
