Replacement Seat Belt Anchor?
Hello kind forum,
Question: is there a vendor who sells the metal that encompasses the seat belt bolt as pictured here:

Thanks in advance.

Re: Question about part
Ay. That's almost certainly a cut-it-from-a-good-donor part. Try Busted Bus.

or Ken@thebusco.com as he has several bodies laying around being cut up for metal pieces.

Re: Replacement Seat Belt Anchor?
After some digging, I found these panels at busdepot:

I will report back on quality and fit.
While I'm at it, is there a consensus on the best vendors for more modern, retractable seatbelts that would be plug and play for a 69 bus?

Re: Replacement Seat Belt Anchor?
Also look at the safety aspects. Your weld-in needs to be able to handle your full weight/inertia g-loads up to at least the speed where you are likely to not have to worry about it as much as . . . other things, kapiche?appetite wrote:After some digging, I found these panels at busdepot:

Vanagon inertial seatbelts should work. Remember, retractors/belts are to be PARALLEL with b-pillar. I used baywindow receiver/latches with the Vanagon belts, because I wanted to keep my aisle open. You may not have to worry about that with a Westy interior.

Re: Replacement Seat Belt Anchor?
Kind forum,
Now that i have newly welded metal for the seat belt anchors, I am loathe to put the 40+ year old seat belts back in.
Please advise if you have had a positive experience with a vendor for more modern replacement belts that would plug and play into the existing body of a bus with a 1/3 - 2/3 bench seat configuration up front.
Such as:
http://www.busdepot.com/111707bk
Or:

Thanks ahead of time.

Re: Replacement Seat Belt Anchor?
Thanks, I will check into his offerings.
Questions:
1. Was there an issue with the seatbelts from this vendor with the mechanism that restricts the driver from leaning forward without locking up?
2. Did you take all the measurements and give them to Steve or did he have plug and play options?

Re: Replacement Seat Belt Anchor?
It has been awhile, so I don't recall what I had to do. I don't have a problem leaning forward with mine, although there is just about nothing worth reaching for with the belt on! I believe that these guys are the original supplier for GoWesty, but they will save you a considerable sum so you can pay the welder to install those bolt panels. Call Steve; he knows our buses.
