poptop removal

i need to remove the poptop temporarily....so i can squeeze into a garage to pull my engine ( 1 inch too tall !)

whats the best way to approach removal ?

All the trim first, then the hinges. You'll need at least one other person to help you lift it off...not that it's atrociously heavy, but that it's so awkward.

Or just let a bunch of air out of your tires.

I agree with the Air idea. 1 inch can be found there and still safely roll.
So it all started when I wanted to get better gas mileage....

Make sure you've pushed your garage door up all the way too, if you have an automatic opener sometimes they hang down an inch or so below the frame of the doorway and you can buy yourself a little headroom.

I unhooked the garage door, pushed up and clamped on a vice grips to hold the door up and the 78 westy just squeaked by...and Dave once just put his bus on RIMS (1965 21 window) just to fit it in his garage...

Its a thick wooden beam on an oldish appt building...ill try the tire deflation...i may get enough to squeak under
