But all is not lost! You need to make a boneyard run and find a turn signal switch that you can break for parts. I find switches that have been trashed pretty darned easily (Hmmmm....wonder if I have a canceling tab on the shelf) by just looking around a bit. As I mentioned before concerning other parts, the canceling tab should be an easy find inasmuch as it is used in a bunch of other switches.
From that point it's as simple as removing the top plate of the switch (in the picture held by screws at 2, 4, 8 and 10 o'clock). Place your new canceling tab and reassemble.

These too, are easy to replace.

Mine broke at both sides of the metal ring at the end of the arm.
Just realized that the little plastic dot in the slot and the tab are one piece. Mine has the dot but not the tab!?! WTF?!?!

You have the portion of the canceling tab at the red arrow but not the portion indicated by the green arrow. Correct?
If so, you have a broken canceling tab. Still pretty easy to replace. But I think you are on the right track in discussing this with Autohaus.

I assumed they would make good. They've always been the best when it comes to customer service. It's much more difficult than that. The plate is held in by a tab. When you pop the plate the five springs inside decide to go on a little trip. I have located 1 of 5. Hopefully I can find them in time to leave tomorrow. They are the four small springs that hold the tension on the lower electric terminals. Got it put back together & working. A big hassle. Couldn't get the canceling tab to work no matter what I did. Pulled my OG tab out & sent the switch back. Got a new switch and all is good. I wasn't able to just pop the canceling tab in & out as described.
