Help! Case ground location?
Hey, all. I can't recall where the three contact ground mounts to the top of the case. I believe it goes on the case bolt I have it next to in the pic. Help, please, it's slowing things down today.

Re: Help! Case ground location?
The ground prongs go on the (in your photo) upper bolt on the left (nut) side just above your punch. The center bolt gets the thermo time switch on the left.
Good luck!

Re: Help! Case ground location?
I never understood why important ground wires are routed to an inaccessible location which will be oil-soaked and heat-soaked, hastening their corrosive demise.Every time i pull apart atype 4 those wires, which FI functioning relies upon are a mess of cracked rusted crud barely hanging on.

Dingo, you are right on the money with your observation. Here is a pic I found on the web, of a moderately clean engine top. Plenty of crud.

Re: Help! Case ground location?
For as long as I've owned my van, the 3-prong grounding lug has been mounted to the top-most case hole behind the flywheel flange (the one missing a bolt on the left side of THall's photo). Have not had any problems routing the engine harness grounds to there with either harness that I've used.
