Where can I find wire disconnects with a tab?

Looked all over town today and could not find any of those female wire disconnects with the little tab to hold them into harness plugs. The only pic I could find was from German Supply. But they list them as out of stock. Used to be able to get them at any auto parts store.

Sluggo, From your entry I believe (but not certain) that you refer to the "F type" 1/4 inch connector. See on Ratwells pages under item 55 on his list. Tells all about push-on connectors and their install tools. I have bought hundreds of them in all different sizes. Got mine from Digi-Key (packs of 100). These are not expensive. Also bought the cheaper hand crimper. These connectors are just like OEM and any rebuilder/rewirer cam't do without them. Bob L

Do you have a link? A Google search provided lots of coax connectors.

Are these for use with open barrel crimpers?

That's just a standard female disconnect. I need the ones with the tab like in the picture.

I think Bob has nailed it with his reference to ratwell's terminal connection page. The sheer range of choices offered by Digi-Key is daunting, but I think the ones you want are called 2.250" "FASTIN FASTON" connectors. The FASTON refers to the flat-bladed style, and the FASTIN refers to the locking-tab variant.

Digi-Key's prices seem to be in the 20-cent per piece range, unless you buy 12,000 or so. Then the price drops to 6-cents per. Group buy, anyone? :joker:

Cottage industries are the new thing, let's do wiring harnesses . . . perfectly.

Isn't some guy named Kyle aleady doing that?

I actually have lots of ideas for cottage industries, but the terms of my employment visa preclude me from persuing any money-making venture aside from the job I was brought here for.

Like the one in this link. http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/e ... -ND/290327 but the tab at the top needs to be in the middle strip not the top.

Just finished an online chat with a Digi-Key rep. He said they do not carry it.

German supply sells 10 packs for $3. I was looking at the singles and they are out of stock somehow. Feel kind of lame paying $10 shipping for $3 worth of stuff.
