Clutch Engagement Affecting Idle

Post by Velokid1 » Tue Oct 10, 2006 4:44 pm

It didn't happen once the bus warmed up today, but during warm-up this morning I noticed that when I put my foot on the clutch pedal the idle would speed up slightly and when I took my foot off the pedal the idel would slow.

Brand new problem, not necessarily caused by the switch to FI this weekend, but wasn't doing it before the swap.

Anything to worry about?

I hope that's right. I've noticed this phenomena in Ludwig and filed it in the "please God don't let this mean anything" category.
Ludwig--1974 Westfalia, 2.0L (GD035193), Solex 34PDSIT-2/3 carburetors.
Gertie--1971 Squareback, 1600cc with Bosch D-Jetronic fuel injection from a '72 (E brain).

When I had my rear wheels up on jack stands they would spin in neutral.

What you're describing jibes with this.
