That's when you do the bolt heads and the gear. The bolt heads can take a pretty good grinding, more so than the soft aluminum gear.

They were "low profile" bolts from John at Aircooled. My case wasn't together so it was mostly a nuisance.

This is probably 2nd nature for a lot of the AC veterans, but I had to learn that, I'd better check everything. Just bolt it on and drive! Hah! :blackeye:

This is where I suggested that you make sure the "U pin" has the peened (squashed flat) edge. If you squish the clip, it could end up binding the flap and the damn "U pin" falls out anyway. You want the clip to be loose-ish here, and the pin most certainly retained by the end squish. I think you know I know what I am saying because I sure don't know if I know if you know that I know what I am trying to say.

I get it. I pulled everything apart and got it ready to drop today and did that to the clip while I was at it. Bottomened & I will drop the engine tomorrow and install a new Input Shaft Seal and Starter Bushing. Then we're gonna drop his engine and install a new Flywheel Seal, Rear Seal & Foam Seal. :confused2: At this point I can have everything off & ready in about 1 1/2 hours. Drop the engine itself in about 20 minutes.

Sweet.

They should make a movie, like what was it, "The Fast and the Furious"
