Anyone ever seen this?

Wasn't even close to torque and the timesert pulled out taking the threads with them.
I've had plenty of problems with my exhaust studs. 3 of the original 8mm studs pulled out when I was rebuilding the engine. Went to 9mm studs, 2 of those pulled out, then went to the timeserts those seemed great until I went to put the heat exchanger back on this last time.
Soooo, the plan is to go to 10mm to 8 mm step studs. If that fails then 10mm timeserts.
Any suggestions or advice?

Re: The sorrows of the exhaust stud
Get it done. Use a little smear of JB Weld in the threads of the TimeSert and stud-into-Time-Sert. UNDER-torque your anti-seize coated exhaust nuts to only 12 ft/lbs. Then re-tighten to only 12 ft/lbs again after a week. Thereafter, check/tighten but do not back off to 12 ft/lbs at every other valve adjustment until readings are stable...chitwnvw wrote: Soooo, the plan is to go to 10mm to 8 mm step studs.
