Nuts for NPT Oil Sensor
When I wondered into the local Ace Hardware, I really didn't think I was going to have a hard time finding a nut for my oil temp sender. But since it has the tapered NPT threading a normal nut won't thread on very far. What have people been doing to secure it in the inspection plate?

I don't think that sender is going to work if you're putting it in the taco plate. It may be to long. This is the one you want to use.

That sender should work fine. What you want to do is get a brass 1/8 NPT nipple at ACE and solder it to the top side of the inspection plate after you have drilled the correct size hole. You do not need a lot fancy equipment to solder this nipple in place just a propane torch some flux and low temp. solder you could even do it on the top of your kitchen stove if it is gas.
If you need one in a hurry and don't have the resources you can have the one pictured here because I'm using another of my home made ones.
The two bolts holding the inspection (taco) plate on are actually the same size, I guess the close-up feature causes them to look that way.
