Found the last pesky oil drip, a loose pipe plug just to the right and down from the oil cooler. Can only surmise increased oil pressure pushing past the threads. Used a NEW plug, chased the threads, applied red Loctite, let dry 24 hours, test start successful. Have to Bolt plenum and related back up, test drive imminent. The good thing about this drip was the confirmation of oil pressure. About 15 minutes total run time so far, got to break in the cam/lifters in the recommended manner anyhow. Had a Motorcycle trade deal to do, repair of the wife's 4x4 also. A widow I know laid a 70 Triumph 650 Tiger Chopper project in my lap. If you thought VW had some weird engineering, wait till you checkout a British 650 twin cylinder.

Last weekend, Vancouver to MP88 on the I5, south to US 12 East, cutoff to a county rd 9000, then forest service road for about 40 miles. Out of the woods, on Wa. 141. intersect US 97, refuel at chevron in Goldendale. Check undercarriage for damage(none) tires good (8 ply dual tread) . 15 miles east to campout with some associates. Approx 230 miles. Return via US 97 south, Gas up at the Biggs,Or Pilot truckstop. Fill thermos with Strong cawfee, pack of American Spirit Turquoise, 25 bux worth Premium 92, head for the barn. No problem holding 55 all night long , if needed. Good easy trip home, wind was minimal this night. 460 miles more or less. Pulled and cleaned plugs , all a real nice tan color. Want to re do the throttle lingkage where it connects to the arm for the twin carbs, a bit sloppy . Oil and filter. More driving is indicated. Can already feel the engine starting to flow better as the final machining is accomplished one rev at a time. Empi header and muffler set up very quiet. Lifters behaving well, rechecked em , Auto Trans behaving itself. Heat functions. Brakes did well. Thanks for the Guidance gentlemen, stock cam is plenty good.
