...to return to this, I spoke with Adrian and got a bit of clarity..he said he left the 3&4 side of the engine intact and dismantled the 1 & 2 side to install the new cam...

How do you correctly torque the floating main bearing bolts/nuts on the Type 4 case with the cylinders on?
